Formula 1 Traditional Airbrush Paintings

This is a series of F1 themed paintings I made during early 2000's.
I used Olympos airbrush and one of those noiseless small compressors, the kind you can see in freezers.
It had an oil filter but as I would spend hours brushing it would start spitting oil eventually due to overheating and condensation.
Since I was a student and penniless at the time, I could not afford anything better.
Brings back memories when I would sweat and hunch over a small portion, painstakingly adding details only for an oil drops to come out the nozzle and stink it all up. No undo, no incremental saves.
Just you, paper and the high pressure dispersed color particles hitting the paper at high velocity.
Oh how many rainbow boogers came out of my nose.
I used a freehand technique, no stencils and minimum use of simple paper masking for some straight lines.
This way you have to plan ahead and follow a specific order in layering color and area coverage.
Still have most of the paintings with me.
